Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow Poster Design Contest

Poster Contest 

One of the South’s premier airshows, the Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow (HNRA) is opening a design contest for the poster that will publicize the 2027 event, featuring performances from the world’s premier airshow performers, including the U. S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron the Blue Angels. HNRA is looking for a design that best captures the spirit of this beloved local event and of the creative teams featured in the show. The winning artist will receive a $1,000 cash prize, two (2) tickets to the Airshow, and two (2) tickets to the Saturday, October 17, 2026 fundraiser where the winning poster design will be publicly revealed.  Additional recognition will be awarded through social media outlets and news releases.

Submission Guidelines 

  • Dimensions: 18” x 24” poster format 
  • Acceptable Mediums: Paint, Ink, Pencil, Digital (All artwork must be 100% original.)
  • Resolution: Minimum resolution of 300 dpi required for print scalability
  • Acceptable File Formats: .JPG, .JPEG, .PNG, .PDF
  • Colorspace: RGB colorspace only
  • Submission Process: Submit a Request for Entry Form at the link below. This registration will give you access to full guidelines and artwork submission details. All artwork must be submitted digitally following instructions given by Hammond Regional Arts Center.
  • Pre-registration Deadline: Tuesday, June 30, 2026
  • Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026

Contest Rules 

  • Entry Limit: No more than one (1) entries per artist. 
  • Artist Info: Provide contact information including artist’s name, address, email, and telephone number.
  • Eligibility: Anyone may participate. No age limits. No previous professional artistic backgrounds are required. 
  • Original Integrity: All entries must be 100% original with no syndicated graphics, pre-packaged clipart or copyrighted assets. 
  • AI Restriction: No AI-generated designs are permitted. All entries must be created entirely by human artists.
  • Submissions must seamlessly incorporate the following structural design text and graphic branding:  
    • Hammond Northshore Regional Airshow
    • October 30 & 31, 2027
    • RESTRICTED CONTENT: BLUE ANGELS TRADEMARK & MILITARY BRANDING
      If your poster design features themes representing the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, it must comply fully with Department of Defense branding directives. Entries will face mandatory disqualification if any of the following occur: (1) Modification, distortion, or blending of the official Blue Angels crest, script emblem, or typeface; (2) Inaccurate aircraft modeling (illustrated representations must match the current fleet F/A-18 Super Hornet frame and blue-and-gold paint configurations); (3) Unapproved commercial branding or third-party endorsements; (4) Caricatures, cartoon adjustments, or unvetted stylistic modifications to flight crews or operational gear.

Judging Criteria 

  • Quality of design 
  • Creativity and originality of the artwork 
  • Visualization and interpretation of airshow motifs
  • Reproducibility and technical scalability
